new FASHION ILLUSTRATION

It’s such a huge honour to share the pages of this brand new book, in which I'm featured alongside so many of my peers.
'New Fashion Illustration: 50 Essential Contemporary Artists' edited by Ana De Izaguirre, and published by Hoaki Press, showcases the work of Nuno Da Costa, Sandra Sy, Pippa McManus, Bil Donovan, Stina Persson, Cecilia Carlstedt, Anjelica Roslyn, and Lovisa Burfitt to name but a few.
It's such a treat to be in their company and to see my work on the printed page.
I love books – I’m so happy to be in one again!
Thank you, Ana x

sea SIDE

Oh I do like to be beside the sea side!

Sometimes when I do these Christmas illustrations part of me gets a little sad that they’ll only be around for about two months and then it’s sayonara, Señorita.

So, I decided to remove some of the festive-specific accessories so that this beach babe could be enjoyed all year ‘round!

This is Sea Side. She’s a fierce ocean Queen, dressed in her best Versace, Chanel, and Moschino. En route to the coast to catch some waves on that gorgeous CC surf board.
Let’s just hope she buries her clothes deep in the sand lest other ocean Queens be beach combing.

She’s available in the store now - with a little surprise* - take note of the pop up x

*Spoiler alert. The surprise is a discount - my annual holiday sale - take 20% off everything in the store with code XMAS20

LOOK 31

It’s been a minute as far as self-initiated work goes, however as soon as I saw Daniel Roseberry’s Schiaparelli collection for Spring Summer Haute Couture week, I just HAD to draw it.
In fact, I found it so hard to narrow down my favourites I ended up selecting three. I chose what I thought would translate well into my style; a combination of graphic silhouettes with a hint of gold accessories.
I’m still on Maternity leave so I’m stealing moments to draw when I can, however I hope I can squeeze out more of these show-based illustrations in future.
With NYFW just around the corner it’s only a matter of time!

meet BIRDY

BIRDY_BLOG.jpg
BIRDY_FRAMED_BLOG.jpg

Rounding out 2020 with my first and only print release of the year!

I’ve made no secret of my love and fascination with Barbie through the years!
As a child, she fed my imagination and creativity, and clearly it seems she’s still doing it now.
The only difference is I’m slightly less concerned with her what her boyfriend is up to, and more intrigued by her sartorial choices.

For my latest illustration, I wanted to pay homage to everybody’s favourite plastic fantastic fashion icon - because say what you want about her, Barbie’s legacy has endured, delighting both young and old alike! To me she was the ultimate dream boat and I always felt a surge of empowerment whenever I changed her outfit or career, believing it was possible to do, or be, anything.

So, here is my version of the quintessential Barbie Girl - readers, meet ‘Birdy.’
Birdy’s favourite colour is pink, and her wardrobe consists of Gucci cardigans, Prada boots, Chanel bags, Balmain denim twin sets and the most spectacular of Giambattista Valli couture creations! (For any and all formal occasions.) It’s to die for.
And, you know that whatever she does once she leaves her cardboard box, she’s doing it on her own terms, and in style.

’Birdy’ is available in a very limited edition of 20 A3 prints only.
She’s the perfect gift for any girl’s room - be that a nursery or a boudoir - and I’m sure would look perfectly lovely nestled under the tree with a pretty pink bow.
Click here to take ‘Birdy’ home: www.birdyandme.com/shop

BUT, BEFORE YOU LEAVE - please feel free to take a sneaky 20% off all prints and originals in my store until Midnight AEST, November 6th, with code word XMAS20.
I’m getting this sale in early this year, to combat the postal delays due to COVID restrictions.
See my Shipping/FAQ page for more information on delivery times and costs.

dior NYMPHS

DIOR_NYMPHS_FOLIO.jpg

In light of the current pandemic, most fashion houses have been forced or chosen to forgo physical shows this Couture season, opting to present their designs through editorials, live-streams of audience-less shows, or - in Dior’s case - a film!
Directed by Italian film-maker, Matteo Garrone, ‘Le Mythe Dior’ presents Maria Grazia Chiuri’s A/W 20/21 Haute Couture collection as a Pre-Raphaelite fantasy; a fairytale where mermaids, maidens and nymphs frolic, swim, and kiss within a magical forest as two Dior porters roam the woods, carrying an enormous doll house - miniature versions of Dior creations enclosed inside, enticing each character.
I was completely enchanted and just had to draw my own version.
While the film itself has been called out for its lack of diversity (and rightly so as there was room to include POC within its cast of characters) I thought it was such an incredibly beautiful take on ethereal mythology.
I figured I could expand upon the cast within my illustration!
So here you have it - two nymph-like beauties, draping themselves over the most heavenly gown, entwined in forest vines.
Please be sure to watch the film below and enjoy it for yourselves!
(I am utterly in awe of the miniatures themselves, the craftsmanship is something to be admired.)

moschino ANTOINETTE

GIGI_MOSCHINO_FOLIO.jpg

The second I laid eyes on the looks from Moschino’s F/W ‘20 collection in Milan, I knew I HAD to stop whatever toddler-based activity or snack I was making and draw one of them!
Taking inspiration from Marie Antionette and the court of Versailles, each girl was a resplendent rococo confection walking down the runway - hair in the sky!
Cop the full show HERE. The coquettish sass of each girl is the stuff of dreams.
I was so torn between Birgit Kos in her pink bow and Gigi Hadid in a coat woven from roses - but you know the florals won out! Forever have my heart.
Hope you like my take on Miss Hadid.

Fingers crossed I find a minute to get inspired by the Paris collections!

VALENTINO SPRING COUTURE

VALENTINO_BLOG.jpg

Having a baby will foil even the best laid plans.

Starting this illustration approximately 3 hours after the Valentino Spring Couture show hit Paris back in January, it has only been this week that I was able to finish it! Better late than never, I guess.
This collection was perhaps one of the most beautiful that Pierpaolo Piccioli has delivered for Valentino in recent memory.
Sumptuous and ethereal - each look was better than the last. I had grandiose ideas of illustrating numerous looks, however - as mentioned - babies get in the way. I’m just pleased that I was able to finish this one; combining one of my favourite gowns with the stunningly elfish beauty look by the always incredible Pat McGrath.
